FINAL FANTASY 16
There was a gap of six years between Final Fantasy 13 and 15, but given the troubled development of the latter, it’s fair to assume (or hope) that the next single player Final Fantasy title won’t make us wait too long. Luminous Productions are working on something– we don’t know what it is, or when it’ll come out, but the studio has got irons in the fire for sure.
Could Square Enix, then, be ready to announce Final Fantasy 16 in the near future? It seems unlikely- one would assume that that’s a game they want to save for next gen, and the fact that they’re going to be focusing on Final Fantasy 7 Remake for a while also means that a sequel might not happen for a while. Whenever it does happen, we just hope it doesn’t end up being in development for nearly a decade the way Final Fantasy 15 was, in some form or another.
