4. Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy is an odd fit for this list as, rather than just stagnating through a lack of change like some of the other entries here, Square's flagship RPG series has actively degenerated over the past decade or so. Once the biggest franchise in gaming and the sole reason the RPG made it over to the west, Final Fantasy just totally fails at everything now. Lord knows how this came about, but a solid attempt at rebooting the franchise is better than it continuing on as it is now.
