Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu has the player control a boy in search of a rare flower that may cure the town of a curse put on it by the group of demons. The game has the player either fight the monster and defeat it, or fight it until it’s weak enough for you to capture and use it later in battle or to earn some gold. The game was praised for its well-done graphics, FMV cutscenes, audio, and simple layout. The game used over six hundred different backgrounds throughout the game, that’s a pretty hefty number, especially for the time of its release. Sure, it wasn’t perfect, but it sure was fun for what it was.
