GHOST OF TSUSHIMA
Ghost of Tsushima’s open world is this weird amalgamation of ideas taken from Assassin’s Creed, Breath of the Wild, and Red Dead Redemption 2, but the end result is wholly unique. The vibrant colour pallet of the game is used to excellent effect to populate the world with stunning sights, right up to its brim. And then there’s the fact that exploration in the game is completely diegetic, with foxes and little birds and characters in the world and distant smoke plumes doing the job that would otherwise be done by map markers and objective lists. Then there’s the guiding wind, of course, which pulls it all together in one of the most beautiful and immersive open worlds to ever be crafted in a game.
