After heavily emphasising on the 3D aspect with the launch of the PS3, Sony decided 3D was not the fad anymore. Now, the PS4 does have support for 3D games, but the focus isn’t there, and hence no 3D launch titles. Even 4K hasn’t been implemented properly even though Sony is all out with 4K on its TVs while they’re as fervently working on incorporating 4K in the PS4 as the makers of Happy Tree Friends on the show’s remake.

3D Blu-Ray functionality may be added later on but currently, there’s no support for it on the PS4. The reason 3D won’t be Sony’s focus this time is because they said 3D never caught on properly during the PS3’s time. That was 6 years ago. Now with smart 3D TVs, 3D is not quite uncommon and given proper attention, 3D content could really work like a charm.
