State of Decay Series

Playing as a character in a video game will commonly cause the player to grow a bond with the said character, so imagine the tragedy when you inevitably die, in a lot of games that would simply mean you go back to the last checkpoint with little to no consequences. But, in State of Decay, it’s far from what happens. With the concept of the game being so focused on zombies, it might not be a surprise that once the playable character is to meet their doom, they do not go back to the last location that there was a save, oh no, they’re gone forever. Adios. Au revoir. Bye. The thing that makes the player feel worse is that you can, in fact, go and get the deceased character’s supplies from the last place the character died, you can also find the said character as a zombie.
