2K Game Discusses What Makes Evolve A Next Gen Game

'There's nothing else like it on consoles.'

Evolve

Evolve, the upcoming shooter coming out exclusively on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (alongside a PC version as well), promises to be the first multiplatform game of this generation that will release for next generation machines only, with no version developed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or Wii holding it back. As such, it promises to be one of the first ‘next generation experiences’ that we will get. 2K realizes this, and they discussed this more with The Examiner.

“Since 2K has owned the property for Evolve, there obviously has not been any consideration for [Xbox 360 and PS3],” 2K’s Denby Grace stated.

“I believe previously it began as a [past]-gen platform, but where the game is at now, it really is a truly next-gen experience,” he declares.

“Especially when you look at things like the environment, the world, how rich it [all] is, how much is going on with the AI we’re driving, the wildlife system and how the game looks.

“[Evolve] really is a dense experience; it can only be delivered on that next-generation of console.”

Evolve is one of the few third party games that are actually taking a chance by releasing exclusively on next generation hardware- other such games include Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Knight, and Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Unity.
