Zombies are quite popular amongst consumers of all forms of media. Whether it be movies and TV shows, or books, or video games, the zombies genre is often considered to be an overpopulated and overused one. But it is so popular for a variety of reasons. The thrill and tension inherent in the genre is unmatched by anything else, and often these games, when they do what they’re trying to do and do it right, provide absolutely unforgettable moments. Just like in movies and TV shows, coming up against an entire horde of zombies and finding your way out of the situation can be thrilling and unforgettable. So here in this feature, we’re going to list 14 instances in video games when we were overrun by numbers of zombies, moments which are good enough to stick out in our memories. If there are any such moments that we haven’t mentioned but you can think of, mention them in the comments section below.

THE LAST OF US

The Last of Us was a game that was relentlessly thrilling from start to finish, no matter what situation the players found themselves in. Even when you were fighting against decidedly weaker foes in human, non-zombie enemies, the game could have you on the edge of your seat. But it was at its best when it put you right in the middle of dire, zombie-fuelled situations and made you find a way out. One particular section in the game when you’ve with characters Henry and Sam and fighting through the sewers and find yourselves having to make your way around a large number of the infected is particularly memorable.
