Amazing Xbox 360 tech demo looks stunning

Lionhead studio’s lead programmer, Ben Sugden has uploaded a tech demo which he showed off at GDC 2011 on Youtube and it looks amazing.

Titled, “Mega Meshes – Modelling, rendering and lighting a world made of 100 billion polygons”, the video shows off a new tech that the studio’s developed for the Xbox 360.

Here’s the word from the dev himself:

“The video shows the results of the mega texturing technology I developed.
The frame rate is really sucky in this capture, I have no idea why. The rendering engine runs at 30hz, but you’ll have to take my word for that!”

He also uploaded another video which shows of some amazing lightning effects, watch it below:
