Call of Duty: World War 2 is adding female soldiers to the series for the very first time, but it will be beaten to the punch by Battlefield 1, which will be getting female soldiers with the upcoming Russia themed In The Name of the Tsar DLC.

The soldiers in question will be the Women’s Battalion of Death, the infamous Russian battalion of women soldiers that was deployed in 1917. This also marks an about face for EA and DICE from their earlier stance that the inclusion of women in the game would not have been considered believable by the game’s intended core demographic of male gamers. What prompted them to change their mind on this, I wonder?

Battlefield 1: In The Name of the Tsar will be launching for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, which are the same platforms that Battlefield 1 itself is available on. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage and information.
