Bioshock movie still happening

Posted By | On 31st, Aug. 2010

Game director Ken Levine has confirmed that a movie based on Bioshock is still under active development. We had reported earlier that the movie was stalled due to financial issues, but now the project seems to be back on track.

“I will say that it is still an active thing,” Levine has told DC radio station 106.7. “And it is something we are actively talking about and actively working on.”

But he was a bit sceptical on how the movie will turn out.  “I can’t tell you whether — you know, the movie business is complicated — I can’t tell you whether it’s going to happen for sure or it’s not going to happen for sure,” Levin adds. “But it’s something we are actively discussing, quite actively, and actively working on.”

Levine also talks how making a game and making a movie are two different issues.  “You can’t really do that in a movie,” Levin says. “That’s your guy, that’s the guy you are following through.”

We will see how it turns out. But the next game in Bioshock universe surely looks exciting.

Thanks, Kotaku.
