Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War & Nightmare Coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

A historically accurate game featuring dragons, and stuff.

You probably have no idea what the headline means, do you? Well, if it makes you feel any better, I don’t either. Nonetheless, it’s sort of my job to report on it, so let me try to make sense of it… for you, and for myself.

Bladestorm is a series of games by Koei. This means that it is a series of (not necessarily accurate) games set in various periods of  history, structured like action games, and having players take on waves and waves of enemies at a time. Think Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, or The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and you’ll have an idea of what I am talking about. The catch is that Bladestorm games are not based on Japanese history, like other Koei games, but rather on western history. Specifically, The Hundred Years’ War and Nightmare is, if the name did not give it away, based on the Hundred Years War between France and England.

Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War & Nightmare will be releasing on PS3, PS4, and Xbox One some time later this year, at least in Japan.
