Dark Souls Gets New Gun Game Mod

And it is as crazy as you might expect.

Dark Souls already has near infinite replay value (as well as a stinging level of difficulty), so why not mod it to add even more of those elements into the game? Reddit user Bqm11 (via PCGamer) has basically made a new mod for the game which adapts the concepts of Gun Game from Counter Strike to Dark Souls. The results are… glorious.

Basically, you now level up only when you connect a hit with the enemy. Dying or getting hit leads to severe penalties, including being sent back to the start of a level. A loot system has also been thrown into the mox for good measure.

“For example, you start at level 1 wielding a very low tier weapon and no armour then after smacking an enemy 3 times you level up granting you a slightly better random weapon and you can continue to level up until you get hit or reach the cap,” the creator explains.

In spite of the name of the mod, guns are not added to the game- you have to make do with what is already available in game. But hey, it’s not like Dark Souls is wanting in variety, right?
