I don’t know about you all, but I’ve been waiting for a port of Dark Souls, From Software and Bandai Namco’s classic action RPG that introduced a paradigm shift in the industry, for years now. And finally getting to see it coming to the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch- it was announced last week over the Nintendo Direct Mini- made me really happy.
While very little is known about the specifics of this port (other than the framerate, resolution, and the number of online players), one thing that we are learning of now, based on what Laura Kate Dale of LPVG is reporting, is that Polish studio QLOC may be involved with the remastering of the game- at least for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions. Dale has proven to be a fairly reliable source in the past, and was one of the first ones to break the story of a Dark Souls remaster.
That said, it’s still unsubstantiated- and may remain that way until the remaster finally releases on the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 25.
The PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of Dark Souls Remaster are, to some major degree, being worked on by QLOC. FromSoft may be doing some work, but certainly not all of it. https://t.co/aAA2sFjle7
