In the Dead Space remake, side missions offer valuable insights into the lore. These missions are optional, but fans of the game will appreciate the immersive experience they provide. All Dead Space Remake Side Missions:

Chapter 2 (Intensive Care)

• Side Mission 1: Scientific Methods Step 1 – Upon acquiring Log 30 – Patient Observation, proceed to the end of the room and view the complete hologram without stopping it midway. After the hologram disappears, press the blue “activate” button, as there have been reports of glitches occurring during this sequence. This will ensure that the objective is updated and it will also fix the glitch if it occurs during your playthrough.

• Side Mission 1: Scientific Methods Step 2 – To find Log 31 – Nicole’s Study, activate the left breaker for the showers at the circular breaker. After that, use kinesis to shift the wall and reveal a hidden room where the log can be found.

Chapter 3 (Course Correction)

• Side Mission 1: Scientific Methods Step 3 – To watch Nicole’s recording, go to the Calibration Room. If the room is locked, follow Steps 1 and 2 to unlock it.
• Side Mission 2: You Are Not Authorized – Please note that starting this particular side mission may cause you to miss a log in Chapter 7. If you’re trying to collect all the logs, it’s best to avoid this mission for now and return to it later. However, you can still collect the Rigs even if they won’t be marked on the map. To start this side mission, access the console located near the logs. The objective is to locate all the Rigs scattered throughout the game, which can’t be found immediately. You’ll have to search for them one by one and backtrack to the console once all are collected.
• Volker’s Rig (Item required for Sid Mission 2 – You Are No Authorized) – Follow the left path on the Flight Deck and continue floating. You’ll need to cross the Cargo Lift, and you’ll know you’re getting close when you pass the oxygen tank.
• White’s Rig (Item required for Side Mission 2 – You Are Not Authorized) – The fragment can be located towards the left end of the ADS section, floating on a ledge.

Chapter 6 (Environmental Hazard)

• Holt’s Rig (Item required for Side Mission 2 – You Are Not Authorized) – Upon entering the East Grow Chamber, locate the three corruption nodes located on the ground to the left, just behind the elevator and destroy them.
• Side Mission 3: Premeditated Malpractice – Get the Tissue Sample from within the Cryogenic Chamber.
• Side Mission 3: Premeditated Malpractice Step 1 & 2 – There are two steps. Complete Step 1 by scanning the tissue sample in the Main Lab. Then, move on to Step 2 by watching the recording in the Intensive Care Unit. Once both steps are completed, return to the location where you first started the chapter.

Chapter 7 (Into the Void)

• Side Mission 1: Scientific Method Step 4 – To find Log 119 – Nicole and Dr. Kyne, head west by going through Equipment Supply. Once there, set the circuit breaker to Storage 2 and look for the log on the floor.

• Side Mission 3: Premeditated Malpractice Step 3 – To collect Log 110 – Ore Storage, start by using kinesis to block the laser traps using crates on Deck C. Afterward, avoid traveling up and head towards the end before entering Ore Storage. Finally, move the crates and grab the log on the wall.

Chapter 8 (Search and Rescue)

• Rousseau’s Rig (Item required for Side Mission 2 – You Are Not Authorized) – To find the rig, head to Fuel Storage via the tram and enter Engineering. You’ll need security clearance level 3 to access the locked room on the top floor.

• Bailey’s Rig (Item required for Side Mission 2 – You Are Not Authorized) – Next to a corpse on the second desk inside E. Bailey’s office.

• Side Mission 3: Premeditated Malpractice Step 4 – Watch the recording after entering the Main Atrium and interacting with the right side panel.

Chapter 10 (End of Days)

• Benson’s Rig (Item required for Side Mission 2 – You Are Not Authorized) – To find Benson’s Rig, enter the Tram Tunnel through the Crew Deck door, then look under the stairs and on the ground to spot the rig. This is the final rig you need to collect.

• Side Mission 2: You Are Not Authorized (Completion) – To complete the side mission, return to the Captain’s Nest located under the Main Atrium. Use the Rigs on the Bridge Security Console to make the Master Override.

• Side Mission 3: Premeditated Malpractice Step 5 – Move through the Diagnostic Lab to find Log 152 – Working Directly on the desk to complete the mission.

• Side Mission 1: Scientific method Step 5 – To access information about the weapon upgrade for the Force Gun, play the recording located in the same room where you found the Gravitic Amplifier.
