Destiny has had a long, bumpy, road, but I think fans who stuck with the game all this while will tell you that the game finally seems to be the title that it had been promised to be pre-launch. A lot of this is because of the staggering wealth of content that the game has now- thanks to two constant years of updates, expansions, and iteration on the barebones skeleton the game originally launched with.

This year’s Rise of Iron expansion will be adding more content to the game- including, it sounds like, the return of some fan favorite modes from previous expansions. Speaking in an interview with Playboy, Scott Taylor, executive producer for the expansion, confirmed that Infusion would be remaining in the game

“We hit a place with April where, you know, we introduced infusion in Taken King and we liked it, and then in April I think we further refined it to a place where we don’t feel the need to update that for Rise of Iron,” Taylor said. So to be very specific, any gear that’s come out since Taken King you can infuse to the light level that’s coming for Rise of Iron.”

Speaking specifically about Sparrow Racing League, he said, “We’re always talking about it, right? I mean like, you put things like Crimson Doubles, Sparrow Racing, Festival of the Lost, the April update that had Prison of Elders updates—we like, we think it’s really fun and dynamic to have the world, have things pop up, and so yeah we’re always talking about all those things and figuring out if we should or shouldn’t.”

Destiny: Rise of Iron launches on PS4 and Xbox One this September.
