With the June SDK update for the Xbox One, along with announcements that major multiplats such as Battlefield Hardline and Destiny will all be able to run on 1080p on the Xbox One, it seemed like this generation’s inane obsession with resolution was finally coming to an end; but of course, one of the last few games made under the old SDK is still due for a release, and guess what, it’s still 900p. Cue the resolution wars again.
You see, Blizzard senior producer Julia Humphreys has told Joystiq that Diablo III: Reaper of Souls: Ultimate Edition (I still can’t get over how long that name is) will run on the Xbox One at a resolution of 900p. Which should give lots of canon fodder to gleeful fanboys on either side.
At least she also confirmed that the game will be 60FPS, so there is that. If it had been 900p/30FPS, there would have been hell to pay on both sides.
