Diablo III game director: Isometric perspective vital for the game and won’t change

Diablo III’s game director Jay Wilson is on the same wavelength as the fans — who would have known? He knows that Isometric view is vital for the game, and he shot down the people wanting the game to have a different perspective this time.

I mean, what’s wrong with people wanting a different perspective for Diablo 3? It’s not like the game comes out after a decade and such changes are totally needed to bring a breath of fresh air.

“Very early on in the process we had some people who argued that we should not make the game isometric,” he said to games.on.net.

“That it would be better technology, more modern, if we made a third or first-person game.

“I really would have nothing of it. For me a camera is not a technology choice, there’s more than enough first and third-person games out there,” he added.

Stay tuned to our review of the game soon. It will be out on May 15th exclusively for PC.
