FIFA 18 First Patch Makes Goalkeepers Better and Easy Modes Easier

Some rather far reaching changes made in the first update.

FIFA 18 hasn’t even been out a full week, but EA Sports has pushed out the first major update for the game already. This update makes some important changes and addresses some key player feedback. Notably, the shooting and the goalkeeping, which have been criticized by some players as feeling slightly underwhelming, have both been improved in this update.

That aside, EA Sports has also made an effort to make the game easier for newcomers and more casual players. Amateur and Semi-Pro difficulties, which are the easier ones in the game, have been made easier- so if you are like me and only play FIFA every now and then, you will still be able to hold your own, at least on lower levels.

EA has also added an option to delegate contract renewals and allowed users to renegotiate a contract with a player whose release clause has been paid in Career Mode, which is another change players should appreciate.

You can check out the full patch notes below. FIFA 18 is out on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and a version is available on Nintendo Switch too. Make sure to check out our review of the game (we loved it).
