Games that can make for awesome movies

Posted By | On 30th, Oct. 2009

As everyone knows that hardcore gamers don’t only play video games, they live them. According to many of them, video games are better than movies and for about $60 they get tons of fun and an awesome 12-15 hour action packed adventure. Some even imagine if those games can ever hit the silver screen. Well we at GamingBolt think the same too. So here is our wish list for the video games we would love too see on the big screen.

  • Uncharted

If there is any game that can pull off what Holloywood can not, it’s Uncharted. Some of the amazing scenery and the mind boggling action are so over the top that I don’t even think any Hollywood movie can pull it off. Uncharted is complete in every sense. The story, the amazing characters and the music sounds outstanding. As we all know that a movie is under production and if is half as good as Among Thieves than I am sold.

  • Metal Gear Solid

The question here is which of the seven to eight games you will make your movie based on? MGS, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4, MGS;PO, heck even the old classics were a master piece. But the major drawback of a Metal Gear Solid movie can be the really amazing yet difficult to understand story. The game has everything to take from, one of the best protagonist of all time and a very complex plot. Again, just like Uncharted, a movie is in works…but fingers crossed on how it will work.

  • Gears of War

One of the best exclusives that the Xbox 360 has and a flick based on Marcus Fenix will be just what the doctor would have ordered. Having said that the plot of the game is a bit of hit and miss and as we all know that one of the important elements of a movie is its plot, Gears of War: The Movie if tweaked story wise could do really well. And you know when Microsoft is behind something, their marketing is mostly spot on.

  • Assassin’s Creed

Ubisoft’s epic AAA adventure could stun the movie industry if its movie adaptation is done properly. Just like Metal Gear Solid the story is a bit convoluted but again the setting during The Crusades could be really unique as not many films have been based on history these days.

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

One of the best first person shooter games of all time has the potential of becoming one of the finest movies ever made. Although not a lot of movies are based on war, a one that come in the mind are Saving Private Ryan. With how great Modern Warfare already is as a game, a movie would just be icing on the cake.

Honorable Mentions

  • BioShock
  • Legend of Zelda
  • Halo
  • Infamous
