GTA: Vice City pulled off Steam due to RIAA copyright claim

Sony Music Entertainment screws Vice City over.

Looks like GTA: Vice City is not on sale on Steam at the moment, due to some music copyright issues. Those of you who’ve bought it off the digital service already can still download it and install it, but it’s not on sale anymore.

A post on Steam’s North American forums confirms this. “Due to some music licensing issues, we’ve had to temporarily remove Vice City PC from digital stores,” says Rockstar. “We’ll make it available again as soon as possible.”

The copyright issue has been filed by Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Chappel, and the content (Vice City) has been blocked on DIAA grounds.

The Michael Jackson song Wanna be Startin’ Something is featured in Vice City’s Fever 105 radio station.

We have no clue as to when this issue will be solved, but stay tuned. We will keep you updated as more information heads our way.
