Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Speaking out, by way of his personal Twitter feed, Kojima Productions’ Kenichiro Imaizumi has told fans that the release date for the massively anticipated stealth action game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, simly isn’t ready.

When asked by a fan, “should I stay up to until 5AM Wednesday night Thursday morning to watch the Japanese Kojima Station?”, he responded, “If you’re expecting release day, please go to bed.” He went on to say that when an announcement that big rolls around, he would “utilize multi language media”.

One other Twitter user told him that the wait is, “killing us!”. But rather than simply reject the comment as an offhand piece of hyperbole, he instead reassured fans of the iconic series by saying, “Sorry but Hideo and KJP are working very hard to make it better quality everyday and night. It’s not just ready to announce yet.”

With the rumour mill having previously aroused speculation around a February 24th of 2015  release date, a Konami spokesperson said that you should remain “wary” of lending credence to a unconfirmed release date.
