Turn 10’s Forza Motorsport series has usually been a high watermark for the genre, and has received exceptionally good praise with each numbered release- all that is, except for one, that one being Forza Motorsport 5, the last main entry in the series that launched in 2013, and was a launch title for Xbox One, which was criticized for being content starved, and laden with exploitative DLC and microtransactions. However, Xbox executives are keen to assure us that the disappointment of that game will not be echoed with this year’s upcoming Forza Motorsport 6, which launches exclusively on Xbox One in the holiday season.
“There will be lots of Forza news to come, and Turn 10 in particular is good at communicating with the community when they have stuff to talk about.
“From what I’ve seen, no one is gonna be disappointed about that game,” said Xbox EMEA Social Marketing Manager Graeme Boyd on Rectify Gaming Podcast and on The Inner Circle Podcast.
This also implicitly confirms a holiday release date for the game, which, I mean, come on now, we all expected. Forza games have been on a clockwork like two year release schedule since the very first game, and no one expected this game to be the title that would buck the trend either.
