The game used cel-shading which was a bold undertaking but it really showed that video games are truly an art. The game environments were beautifully designed, from the open sea to the dozens of islands which are massive in scale; in fact it was so massive that the player could look on for miles and miles of land. The developers also took advantage of depth of field and real time lighting, not to mention the multitudes of expressions Link displayed.
