Nintendo’s Logo – As A Key
Consoles in the 1990’s did their best to combat piracy, and as such it was such a rampant issue back then, but Nintendo wasn’t taking any chances. When Nintendo introduced the Famicon Disk System, which for those of you who don’t know is a NES add-on that could play games from a floppy, they added a physical constraint which was a raised Nintendo logo. As you can imagine, disks without the logo would not function at all, even if the data on the disk was indistinguishable.
