Bayonetta 2 is filled with Nintendo easter eggs and crossover content, so it of course made perfect sense that the Nintendo franchise with a strong, central female character- arguably the franchise that set the mould for strong female characters in video games to follow- would also find a place in it. And indeed, as this new trailer shows us, Bayonetta 2 features the eponymous witch cosplaying as Metroid’s Samus Aran as she continues her ridiculously over the top and hyper-violent quest and crusade.
I don’t know what Nintendo plans to do by having so much crossover content in Bayonetta 2- are they hoping to appeal to Nintendo fans who traditionally wouldn’t pick up a game like this?- but honestly, I’m not complaining. It looks awesome.
Bayonetta 2 launches exclusively for the Wii U shortly, on October 24. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more extensive coverage of the game, including our review of the title shortly following its launch.
