Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire Getting A Demo

Rayquaza also confirmed.

Nintendo is getting pretty demo happy lately- after they released the demo of Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS to Club Nintendo Platinum members (causing the Club Nintendo website, and the internet at large, to crash), here’s another high profile Nintendo release that has been confirmed to be getting a demo- Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire, the remakes of the more than ten year old Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire games, and the next mainline installments in the series following last year’s Pokemon X and Y. The demo will be a brand new area and portion of the game that won’t be showing up in the full game when it releases in November, and it will allow players to import their save data into the full game.

That’s not all, though- Nintendo has also confirmed that Rayquaza will be appearing in Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire, which, of course, hints at the remakes being based not on Ruby and Sapphire, but the enhanced Emerald re-release from 2005; such a thing would not be completely unprecedented, as the remakes of the Pokemon Johto games, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, were also all based on the Crystal re-release instead of the original titles.

In addition, the new trailer (embedded above) confirms a whole lot more for the games, including new Mega-Evolutions, new powers for the Primal Reversions of Groudon and Kyogre, and more. Check it out for yourself!

Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire launch exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS line of systems on November 21, 2014.
