Despite the fact that both next gen consoles have yet to be released, popular magazine GQ has released reviews for both systems in their latest issue. Both consoles are reviewed in their “The Lab” section of the publication, and received a rating based out of ten possible stars.

So, how did things pan out? Well, it seems that according to GQ the Xbox One is overall the better console, beating the PS4 with a rating of 8/10 stars to the PS4’s 7/10. According to GQ, the cloud capabilities of the Xbox One make it a ‘complete media device’, and the PS4’s smaller release game list is working against it.

Both reviews were pretty short, however, and GQ itself has very little repute as a relevant gaming publication. So overall, while the Xbox One may have won this round, I wouldn’t write the PS4 off based solely on this information. Let’s wait til release date, where we can get the opinions of both the critics and the fans.

Which console are you picking up on launch day? Let us know in the comments section below.
