Red Dead Redemption 2Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now here, and it’s a massive world. A world this massive is hiding some hidden treasure, for the traveler astute enough to stumble upon it. A world this massive also needs, you know, some way of traveling through it without it getting tiresome. That’s the stuff we cover in this guide.

JACK HALL GANG TREASURE MAPS

There are three treasure maps from the Jack Hall Gang hidden across the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. The video below shows you where to find the maps, and how to solve their puzzle.

INCREASING YOUR BOND WITH YOUR HORSE

Like you, your horse has its own Stamina and Health cores. These are dependant on your bond with your horse—as is how well the horse controls, and how well it responds to you.

So how do you max out your bond with your horse? It’s pretty easy:

  • When it gets tensed, calm it (press the left stick for this)
  • Feed it. However, do not overfeed it, that leads to negative effects
  • Ride your horse without draining its stamina
  • When your horse is dirty, groom it

There are 4 levels of bonding. Once you reach bonding level 2, you can hold R1/RB and press Square/X to Rear. Once you reach bonding level 3, you can hold R1/RB and press X/A to perform a skid move. Once you reach bonding level 4, hold Square/X to perform Piaffe.

UPGRADING YOUR CAMP

Arthur is put in charge of managing the gang’s camp in Red Dead Redemption 2, which is another way of saying you can improve and upgrade it. Which is really simple, to be honest. You just walk over to the donation box behind Dutch’s tent. If you look at the ledger, you can see what you can update. If something costs more money than the camp has, you can always add your own funds to the camp funds by donating them.

Keeping your camp updated will keep it well provisioned, and the more you update, the more donations you have for further updates. The video below explains how the camp works in the game.
