Lots of people looking to get fit.

Leave it to Nintendo to create that odd thing that somehow, someway just works. Near the end of last year saw the release of Ring Fit Adventure. The game was pseudo-sequel, pseudo-reinvention of their Wii Fit franchise in the form of a RPG where you take a ring and battle monsters in various different exercise poses. And it seems the thing has definitely hit a chord.

According to Nintendo’s latest quarterly earnings, the RPG/fitness hybrid has already surpassed 2.7 million copies since its initial release last October. While that’s a pretty impressive number in and of itself, it’s also worth mentioning the game has also had a lot of stock issues, especially once the COVID-19 pandemic began. A lot of places are completely out of stock and have been for the last few months (there’s none even close to where I’m at, for instance). Once stock begins mass production again, I imagine sales will spike even more.

Ring Fit Adventure is available now on Switch, though good luck finding a copy.
