Rumor: Sega cancels Bayonetta 2

Posted By | On 01st, May. 2012

Well yeah, I know something has to be officially announced first to get cancelled but I guess this applies as well. Sega is not in a good position right now financially, so this rumour has a lot of weight.

A website called Spong says that Bayonetta 2 has been cancelled due to the current restructuring process Sega is going through. Attempts to contact and ask Hideki Kamiya – who worked on the first game – on Twitter results in a standard reply, “I am not Sega Man”, uh, okay.

The game was supposed to contain a new character from the US military, and the game was supposed to be in the pre-production stage.

The original game was a critical hit and the sales failed to break 1 million, so this could be the main reason why Sega does not want to make Bayonetta 2. But this is still a rumour at this stage.

We will contact Sega and let you know if they say anything. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
