Siegfried Will Not Be The Main Character In The Next SoulCalibur Game

Posted By | On 15th, Apr. 2011

Daishi Odashima, Director of the Soul Calibur games, started tweeting about past Soul Calibur titles recently, including one little question: “Who does everyone think is SC’s main character? I think, SE=Mitsu, SC1=Xiang, SC2=Nightmare? SC3=Sieg? SC4=Sieg.”The following day he continued: “Personal favorites aside, seems like everyone thinks Siegfried is the main character. At least for the more recent series.” He continued: “All I can say for now is the main character for the new game will not be Siegfried. Keep it a secret!” Following that with “The main character cant be revealed yet so use your imagination for now 😛 All I can say is he/she will be deeply involved with the 2 swords.”

It also seems that the title should have larger funding as one unrelated tweet stated: “My recent work is to get a higher budget for the game from the company!”

This may not seem like much at present but I find the early rumblings of a new Soul Calibur are exciting, not matter how trivial, if only to show that there will be a new addition to the series.

Thanks to Siliconera for the info.
