Sonic Creator Reveals Rejected Wii Game, Haunted Tower

In the latest installment of Nintendo’s Iwata asks, Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka was in attendance, representing his company Prope, and revealed a shelved project he had pitched Nintendo following the reveal of the Wii Motionplus: Haunted Tower.

“When Nintendo announced the Wii MotionPlus accessory in the spring two years ago, I suggested to Nintendo a project called Haunted Tower. You defeated monsters outside the screen, so the living room was the scene of the action. “

There isn’t enough detail to tell if this was a missed opportunity, but, following the pitch, Prope did end up working on Wii Play: Motion producing a mini-game called Trigger Twist …
