Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Will Have Dedicated Servers, DICE Confirms

One less reason to temper your hype.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 actually looks like a really good game- which comes as surprising given just how disappointing and threadbare the 2015 release is considered to be by a lot of fans of the original series. Given what EA is promising for it, and their surprisingly good decisions for the game – such as getting the Spec Ops: The Line writer to write the campaign, or not doing a Season Pass – you can understand why people may be getting hyped for the game in spite of themselves.

And now, there is one less reason for you to temper your hype- it sounds like the game will have dedicated servers. No peer to peer matchmaking, you get your dedicated servers, as DICE’s Dennis Brännvall confirmed in a tweet in response to Angry Joe.

So that’s good news- Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to launch later this year, in November on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
