"So we really do want to wait for a generational leap in compute without sacrificing battery life before we ship the real second generation of Steam Deck," says Valve designer Lawrence Yang.
Steam Deck designer Jay Shaw says the team is "thinking about Steam Deck 2 at all times", but it could take a few years at least.
"Right now we’re kind of looking at this performance target that we have as a stable target for a couple years," says Valve's Pierre-Lou Griffais.
