Development of Tales from the Borderlands is being handled by the multi award winning studio, TellTale Games who already have experience in adapting other pieces of media to their graphic adventure styled games. Like previous TellTale Games titles, Tales from the Borderlands will be released in an episodic manner, creative input for  the project will be coming from (but not wholly consist of) the IP owners, Gearbox Software.

Story

Tales from the Borderlands

While details surrounding Tales from the Borderlands are limited, some information regarding the games plot has been made available. The game will take place in the wake of the events of Borderlands 2 with “Tales” being set up to tell the player  one story with two opposing and contrasting sides to be told. One side of the story focuses around the Con-artist Fiona, whilst the other deals with a Hyperion worker by the name of Rhys. No details surrounding the story plot have been unveiled yet, but during a panel at SXSW panel TellTale Games co-founder Kevin Bruner said “”You never really play what actually happened, you’re playing this Big Fish version of what happened.”, “It’s a Borderlands game, there has to be crazy stuff going on,”.

Gameplay

No gameplay for Tales from the Borderlands has been shown yet, but it’s expected to follow the same gameplay style of previous TellTale Games titles.

Characters

Marcus Kincaid – Marcus is a mischievous gun runner and arms dealer who operates on the planet of Pandora. Having made a fortune from his scattering of Weapons Vending Machines (Marcus Munitions. Inc.) Marcus has appeared before the player at many different times, and in many different locations providing weapons, munitions and quests.

Handsome Jack – Handsome Jack serves as the primary antagonist of Borderlands 2. After gaining control of the massive Hyperion Corporation, Jack declared himself the new dictator of Pandora and takes credit for opening the vault and killing The Destroyer therein. Jack is often portrayed as a maniacal yet capable individual with a particular hatred for vault hunters and those that wrong him.

Fiona – Fiona is one of two new characters being introduced into the Borderlands series via Tales from the Borderlands. Fiona can be seen entering one of Marcus’s stores with Rhys, upon reaching the counter she places an item on its surface which attracts the attention of Marcus. He tells them that he is aware of their intent and that they shouldn’t follow through with what they have planned, saying they want “no part of this insanity”. Handsome Jack however disagrees and informs them that they do want part of the insanity and then says “so many people are going to die”. Fiona is an expected con artist with a wanted poster boasting her face that says “Wanted, “Fiona”, 1st Degree Fraud, Grifting, Scamming, Quackery and several other pernicious deceits.”

Rhys – Rhys is a worker for the Hyperion Corportation, and thus far has only been seen in the same scenario as mentioned above wherein he accompanies Fiona.

Note: This wiki will be updated once we have more information about the game.
