The Surge 2 Will Have Character Creation, More Open World Design

Loads of changes in the new game.

The Surge 2

The Surge 2, the follow up to the surprisingly great science fiction Souls like game that was released last year, will apparently build upon the solid foundation that the first game built already. Deck13, speaking to Hobby Consolas and Everyeye, confirmed that the new game will add more layers on top of the original’s acclaimed design.

This includes a fully customizable character (the original had a set main character you had to play as), more difficult combat (the original was already pretty hard, to be fair), and more open world design, with interconnected areas, and NPC side quests. All of which should come as welcome news to fans of Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive’s fan favorite game, since it sounds like things will be far more engaging this time around.

The Surge 2 will launch in 2019; it has been confirmed to be launching for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
