Before Mario became the hero we all loved, he was a villain.In fact in this game Mario continues to hold Donkey Kong prisoner after defeating him in the previous game. Donkey Kong Jr., attempts to save his father while Mario acts like a weirdo, trying to stop Donkey KongJr.

We all love the villains in the games we play, even though we actually hate them. It is kind of a love and hate relationship. So what makes a great villain? Is it the laughs they bring, the deeds that they do, the people they kill, the fight they possess, the sheer undeniable charisma they carry – or something else?
Regardless, without a villain there can be no hero. That’s just how it goes. Here is our top 100 list of the best villains in gaming.
