Mega Man X
Back in the 80s and 90s, games had a reputation for being short, but brutally difficult. The Mega Man series is a perfect reflection of this. Mega Man X has all this and the extra style afforded to it by the SNES. The classic blue bomber formula is here, with a set of robot masters to tackle, and a bevy of flashy new abilities to collect from them along the way. What differentiates Mega Man X from the other games in the series is that it has a narrative. While it is a shallow one, characters like Zero and other reploids act as great motivation to push through to the end.
