BUSHIDO BLADE
Technically, Bushido Blade was a fighter, but it was so different from any other game in the crowded genre. Rather than wailing away at your enemies and whittling down their health, the game truly lived by the Bushido code, and matches could end with just one deadly strike to the head or the torso, while hitting your foe’s limbs could make them weaker to further attacks. As such, matches could last as long as a few seconds, or if you wanted to keep backing away and looking for the perfect moment to strike, much, much longer than that- there was no time limit to each match, after all. It was a bold, unique experiment, and boy did it pay off.
