Top 8 most disturbing moments in Video Games

Posted By | On 20th, Sep. 2009

With the amount of hardcore games releasing this generation there are bound to be moments where the gamer is bound to get disturbed. At GB we try and dissect some of the games that had some disturbing scenes and have literally raised the gamers body hair! Also please let us know about your picks in the comments section below:

(In no particular order)

Resident Evil 4: The many deaths of Leon Kennedy

Saving the President’s daughter comes at a price. Leon Kennedy made the biggest mistake of his life by going alone to fight an army of zombies. These people just came from anywhere. Leon was ripped apart, burnt to ashes, got his head chopped, fell on the spikes, cut in half by lasers and much much more, Death cant get any brutal than this. Check the video below.

Grand Theft Auto 4: Beating the public

Well we all know that the entire franchise is pretty violent, but in this list I will pick up Grand Theft Auto 4, one of the major success stories of 2008. Niko Bellic the main protagonist of the game, can shoot and hit not his enemies alone, but also give a piece of that to the innocent pedestrians. If that was not enough, the way that Niko Bellic met his end many times in the game is truly disturbing.

Gears of War: Guns can also rip!

Marcus Fenix is a mean man and we all know about him. Even though Gears of War series has got a M rating from the ESRB, i did not find the overall game to be a M. But there are some scenes which are truly horrifying. Yes you are right, I am talking about the infamous Lancer ripping of the Locusts. Check the video below if you have no idea what I am talking about:

Mortal Kombat: The many faces of death!

As I should put it, Mortal Kombat was the pioneer of violence in Video Games in early 1990’s. The fatalities specifically were very disturbing and include ripping of hearts, falling in to lava, or putting bombs in a human body! It doesn’t get any disturbing than this.

God of War 3: How do you rip off a head?

Yeah, yeah iI know this game will be released in 2010. But Its here only for one reason. I wont elaborate on that, please check the video below. Warning the level of disturbance is extremely HIGH!

Silent Hill 5: Home Coming: When you loose a loved one!

Released in 2008, the video below must be one of most disturbing scenes in the entire Silent Hill franchise. Alex is searching for his younger brother Joshua. He finds his father who is responsible for the events at Silent Hill. Before he can speak he is ripped apart by the Pyramid Man. Check the video below.

Xmen Origins: Wolverine: When a mutant becomes angry!

While many of you might not agree with me, I find Logan to be very disturbing in the game. I mean I know the guy is a mutant, has claws which are indestructible. But the level of disturbance in the video below is just ridiculous. Check it out:

Dead Space: Wanna get your head ripped off?

Dead Space was one best new IP’s of 2008. Isaac’s story was involving and I must say it is one of best horror games for some time now. The amount of violence in this game is just disturbing to be honest. Aliens will attack from just about anywhere. Check the video below to get an idea what I am talking about.
