We as gamers are not that different from other people that love going to the movies or reading books, because like other people we enjoy different genres of games, be it action-adventure, thriller, horror and so on. For the average gamer, we often crave for something different, so after we all killed thousand or so enemies, we want to take things slow and use our brain for a change. That’s where the detective games come in. Now in many games that are featured here, these games require you to use your knowledge, your intuition to solve puzzles and get past certain levels. Games like the Batman Arkham series, even though has its fair share of brawling, require you at most times to use your mind to solve puzzles. With that said, here are some of the games that we pay homage to that made us think and made us feel a whole lot smarter in the process.

Professor Layton

I can’t recall a Layton game that was disappointing, in fact almost all the Layton games are actually worth playing. Now if you are a graphic/visual freak, then I must tell you that don’t let the cartoon layout and the absurd characters throw you off. Because deep within the game lies a very well crafted story that will make you think. And each game storyline will just keep you going, and there are tons and tons of riddles.
