The book is set two hundred and fifty years after the events of Dead Space Martyr. For those of you who can’t make head or tails of the Dead Space series, this book does a pretty good job of explaining the tampering with dangerous technology from the Black Marker, an ancient alien artifact discovered on Earth eighty years earlier, and how that is central to the franchise’s mythology. There is a lot happening in the book, but I can tell you that it will make you understand the series a whole lot better, so this is one that can be easily recommended even to those who aren’t fans of the franchise.
