Remember Carbine’s Wildstar? The MMORPG with the interesting setting, that got a fair bit of attention in the lead up to its release, but then, like most modern MMORPGs, sort of disappeared without a trace. Anyway, Carbine Studios has confirmed that the game would be transitioning to higher capacity ‘megaservers’ this week, that should lead to a more pleasant playing experience on the whole, allowing players to find people to group with more easily and quickly.

As the transition takes place, the game will be offline, from a period of 12-24 hours. “This is a complex operation and we want to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible,” a representative for Carbine Studios said in a statement today. “You can stay informed on the progress of the downtime by visiting us on the forums and social media.”

Since Carbine is a subscription game, and one day of downtime would be pretty bad for players who are paying for the title, they will all get a day’s worth of gameplay as compensation for the server move, in addition to a Boob-Box every day for a month.

If you want to know more about the move, make sure to check out the detailed FAQ on Carbine’s site.
