10 360 and PS3 games we wish never existed [Gallery]

When we think back on our memories, we have a tendency to concentrate on the good bits. My gaming past is dotted with Zelda’s, Final Fantasies and other such classics, but there were just as many retarded excuses for games that I endured in my youth. There are most certainly such games that have offended our current generation of consoles, so it’s time we have a think about what games we wish we could forget from our present.

There’s nothing quite like a bit of disappointment now and then. On a personal level I really wanted FF13 to redeem the series after the horribly cluttered and confused Final fantasy 12. FF13 didn’t revive the franchise as I’d hoped, and many gamers felt left out in the cold by the game’s linear structure and reductionist battle system. It’s not the worst game on this list by far but, as it had such a strong pedigree to live up to, it is one of the most disappointing games I’ve had the misfortune of playing this generation. Now if only SqaureEnix hadn’t wasted so much time on FF14 I might have had some good news to look forward to.

Final Fantasy XIII

    I actually liked Naughty Bear.

I thought Naughty Bear was just crass. Wasn’t fun to play at all with the $60 price tag, it should’ve been one of those free to play browser games.

I loved it, I though it was completely funny.

I thought it was kinda dumb…however, if it had been released as an arcade game with a price of around $20 i think the game would have been alot more successful

yeah the price is really what killed it for me, I liked the idea of murdering fellow teddy bears in a deviously cuddly fashion but 60 bucks is out of the question.

I agree on Haze, they promised so much and at a time when the PS3 didn’t have many good titles. The end result was an intensely below average game that not only disappointed but actually kind of insulted me on personal level for having even rented it. Another game I was very let down by was Iron Man. I mean I know that movie games had never really had a good reputation in the past but this was the PS3 and I figured that with the new technology at their disposal, the developers would put out something half decent. needless to say I was wrong, very, very wrong.

    Terminator Salvation?
That game was made to sell only for it’s trophy lineup. Something like 10 gold and 1 platinum, all to get in like 4 hours.

I brough it on Xbox, I didn’t know about the achievements. It was so bad that when I heard about the achievements, I couldn’t beat it again.

    You forgot Assassins Creed: Brotherhood.

I agree to most of them, except for Lair, which actually played really bad, didn’t look that good… but had a RPG quality background, world and design which really deserved to be followed up with a sequel (adventure game or whatever). So no, actually it’s good for it to have existed.

i agree with sonic. how could sega not see that mario was succesfull because it stuck to its basic roots, and only went to space once there was nothing to improve on its 2d. i wish the stuck to sonic from old days with new levels bosses thats all i wanted.

what about Damnation…or was that such a turn that people have literally blocked it from their minds…that game had massive internet hyp leading up to its rerlease…. it was so bad most review sites wouldnt review it…i think IGN gave it a 2.5

    1. shastyxmcnasty | March 21, 2011 12:38 pm

I also think Lost Planet 2 should have been on this list…I realize it had a few sales and the reviews weren’t to to bad…but lost planet 1 was spectacular, and to follow it up with that turd was an embarrassment.

whoa now, I didn’t buy it but I was kind of intrigued by it and still am. I played both demos and I liked what I saw, I may even pick it up when my financial situation looks up.

TWO WORLDS is hugely underrated, actually a wonderfully engrossing, gargantuan open-world RPG, and it is superior to Oblivion in many ways. Sure it’s cheesy, but that’s part of its charm. It just makes a poor first impression — give yourself a couple hours to experiment and get into it, and you start to realize what a terrific game it is.

I think people are unfairly dismissive of DEAD OR ALIVE XTREME as well. Sure it’s juvenile and pervy, but the bizarre mix of dating sim, casual sports game, mini game bundle, and RPG/customization elements, all add up to something unique and different. It’s actually pretty challenging, too. Admittedly not to all tastes, but I liked both XTREME games.

also, why is DOA4 pictured under the DOA: Xtreme 2 page? lazy.

I was so disappointed w/ Lair, had so much promise. Even after the patch the controls were horrible.

  13. need-gadget | March 22, 2011 07:25 am

    I love the Final Fantasy,,,

Damnation is the most aptly named game ever. I am kinda ashamed I have 1000G in that game…lol.

I enjoyed terminator 4 what is was bein a fan of the movies. U could tell is was thrown 2getha in a few mos, it only had like 4 types of enemies…lol. Oh well easy achs/trophies is never a bad thing.

    1. PilarVIRUS | March 24, 2011 02:53 am
