Assassin’s Creed Games Will Have Online ‘Live’ Services From Now On

Although they will be different from something like Rainbow Six: Siege.

Ubisoft has announced that it will emphasize live services in all of its games going forward. This includes not just multiplayer games like The Division, The Crew, Rainbow Six: Siege, and For Honor, but also traditionally single player focused franchises, like Assassin’s Creed.

This is something Ubisoft confirmed at an investors meeting that it held yesterday. When asked for clarification,CFO Alain Martinez confirmed that while Assassin’s Creed will have live services too, the nature of live services it has will differ greatly from the kinds one might expect in a multiplayer focused game like The Crew or Rainbow Six: Siege. This means we don’t need to worry about a persistent online connection requirement, or forced multiplayer here- the best thing Ubisoft could do would be to take notes from how IO Interactive did it with last year’s superlative Hitman.

More details on the new Assassin’s Creed game will hopefully be shared soon, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage.

as long as this holds true for single player games, knock yourself out Ubisoft.

Suit yourself Ubisoft with this “services” nonsense. Your funeral. Its not like your recent games have been blowing people away. They’ve basically all been the same hybrid gameplay of different games that are using the same engine. Playing any recent Ubisoft game is like eating at Taco Bell. Its all the same chili meat, shredded cheese, chopped tomatoes, and shredded lettuce being sold, but they’re just using a different presentation for each menu item. Boring.

  • Why are they all obsessed with this always online crap. Who is asking for this anyway?

    • I’am freelancing on the net, accomplishing simple responsibilities that simply demands from you computer or alternatively laptop computer as well as internet service access and I couldn’t be happy… 6 months have passed by since i started off this and also i acquired so far in total 36 thousand dollars… Basically i gain almost 80 bucks each hour and work for three to 4 h on daily basis. And great thing about this task is that you can make a decision when to do the job on your own and for how long and you get compensated by the end of each week.>>>>
