Of late, more and more Japanese games have started to show up on the PC. Sega (the company which presently owns Atlus) have led the charge, not only prioritizing first and second party PC game development, but also porting some of their old console game hits over to the platform.

But if all this started to give you some hopes about the upcoming highly anticipated Persona 5 coming over to the PC, well, sorry to dash those hopes. In a tweet that was a response to a question by a fan, Atlus USA’s John Hardin has confirmed that Persona 5 will indeed not be getting a PC release- such a thing would be highly improbable.

Of course, logically, there is no reason for the game to not show up on PC, but while many may rage at this, calling foul, and picking up on conspiracy theories about moneyhatting, the simple fact of the matter is that Atlus is a small publisher with a small budget, and catering primarily to a Japanese audience- both these factors make it hugely unnecessary for a PC port of the game at all.
