Destiny King’s Fall Secret Room is “A Fun Easter Egg, No Loot to Find”

Sorry, conspiracy theorists.

Destiny The Taken King

Destiny: The Taken King players have been taking Oryx down consistently since the expansion’s raid, King’s Fall, went live several weeks ago. However, in the wait for Heroic mode, many players reported the discovery of a secret room full of runes and relics that could be dunked, similar to the ceremony of entering the raid.

Obviously there was speculation that this had some function or at least housed some kind of loot. According to creative director Luke Smith on Twitter though, “Oryx’s Basketball Court is a fun Easter Egg the team put together. It’s just a place to Dunk like your neighbors 8 ft rim. No loot to find.”

Which is all well and good but Destiny fans are the last to accept that something was put in place simply for “fun”. This is especially so when you consider the long-running hunt for the Sleeper Simulant and other “hidden” Exotics in the game. The wait for Heroic mode continues and we have a feeling that more such secrets will begin to pop up so stay tuned.
