Disaster Report 4 cancelled due to Japan quake

Posted By | On 14th, Mar. 2011

Irem has decided to can Disaster Report 4 completely in the wake of the recent earthquake and tsunami which hit Japan last week.

This news comes via a tweet:

Wow, Irem outright cancels Disaster Report 4, originally due out this spring. This close to release, that’s gotta hurt. (thx @jonnyram)

This would prove perilous for them as the project was almost-complete and cancelling it at this stage would hurt a lot. However, we feel their sentiments and appreciate their decision, especially considering how bold it is.

As for fans of the series, we hope they understand that they made this move since the game had uncanny similarities with the recent events in Japan as it featured surviving various disasters.

Irem hasn’t clarified as to why they made this move but we can expect a word on that soon.

We hope Japan emerges stronger than ever in the wake of this disaster.
