Final Fantasy 15: Episode Prompto Trailer Reveals The Game Is Now A… Shooter?

Because when I think Prompto, I think 'gridmark third person shooter', yes.

Final Fantasy 15 was a great, if flawed, return to form for a franchise that had been sliding into irrelevance over the last decade or so. Square Enix have kept up their end of the bargain on the game by consistently supporting the game with great post launch updates and content, including paid DLC.

The next paid DLC for the game will be Episode Prompto, the second of the three planned DLC expansions for the game, each of which is supposed to focus on one of Noctis’ companions. This one will, naturally, be focusing on fan favorite Prompto- except, unlike Prompto’s jolly nature and demeanor in the game, here he… seems pretty grim? And the expansion is a third person shooter? What is happening?

I mean, if Square wanted to get experimental with the game, I guess the DLC and expansion packs are as good a place to do it as any, but… for people who wanted more Final Fantasy 15, is this really going to appeal to them? Let us know in the comments section if this is what you had in mind when you thought of ‘Final Fantasy 15 DLC.’
